First off, I must apologize to the blogosphere for neglecting my blog for so long. This is so not like me; so, let me explain.
It started around the last week of October. Our sorority's talent show was coming up, and I had a few exams that I really needed to ace (by the way, I did)! Not only was all of the above going on, but I had a bad case of "the cold". This time around, it decided to stay for 3 weeks. I was barking all night, EVERY NIGHT!!! I just couldn't shake it. My sinuses were flaring, and I had a horrible head cold.
What did this mean? Nothing that I studied stuck in my head. I read my notes, and the chapters of my books at least 3 times before I could completely understand it. I mean, it was bad!
To say the least, I did pass both exams with the grades that I think deserved, and yes they were good grades! So, I'm proud of myself. However, the talent show was another huge factor in my life these past couple of weeks. But who am I kidding? The talent show becomes my life during the last week of October, and the days leading up to it in November. This year was like no other though. We had an experienced DJ, and our sorority's local philanthropy, the Mercy Education Project came out. They brought a few of the ladies out that participate in their program for a campus tour, and to enjoy the festivities for the night. The night began, and one of our acts needed 3 microphones... Now, we usually can accomodate for 2 microphones, but to get 3 to actually work correctly took nearly 30 minutes. A show that was scheduled to start at 7p, didn't actually begin until about 7:25p. However, the night ended on a great note. We were able to finish by 9p, donate $125 to the MEP, $100 to the 1st place winner, $50 to the 2nd place winner, and $103 to our sorority! We also raffled off a Michigan pillow and throw blanket, a $25 giftcard to Papa Johns, and a $15 giftcard to iTunes. So the event was great! But I had major anxiety all of the days leading up to the show, as usual! And I say that I would love to be an Event Planner. Ha!
After the talent show, I felt good. My Intermediate Accounting class got out early, and I learned that I had received one of the highest grades on my Operations Management exam. I walked around the UC looking at flyers, and adding to my PDA events that I planned to attend. Come to find out, a U-Lead event was starting in..... 3 MINUTES! I headed to the room to find Amy and a few students ready to start! I enjoyed the presentation that day, learning the difference between being a Leader and being a Manager. And yes, there is a difference!
For the next few weeks, I will be reading lots of books, and writing a few articles. Studying for finals will also be going on, and I will be putting in heavy hours at the library, and I can't wait! Sorority wise- I'll be prepping our new members for Initiation, and being an Active member of a growing organization on campus. I must admit, I love being a sorority girl! I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
To sum it up, I've been extrememly busy. But the next few weeks look very promising. So you will hear more from me, I promise! I also see that we have a guy on deck. Congrats to Jer for becoming a University Blogger!
