After the ups and downs of the Fall semester, I was 110% sure that I would surely enjoy an entire month off from school. But then I realized; not only would I not have any classes to attend, but I would not have to work either. But this also meant that I would be dead broke for an entire month, living off of my last paycheck from the University, and whatever funds I could scrap up for Christmas.
To be honest, I have been 110% UNPRODUCTIVE! I have not started to write my business plan, I have not completed any recreational reads, nor have I started to apply for the University scholarships. And here I sit, on the couch, blogging about how uneventful my break has been. Sadly to say, I've spent the last 17 days doing absolutely nothing!
However, over the break I have found my calling. I've found my passion in life, and have been finding ways to go about doing it. I'm highly interested in Event Planning, and have a keen eye for detail. I usually plan the highly detailed events for my sorority, but I'm sure that this is something that I'd be really good at. So I went to Borders, and purchased my first event planning book, subscribed to the Special Events Magazine, and have even contacted some event planning companies in the Metro area for possible internships. I'm so excited about this one.
My list of events for friends is growing and I can't wait to get the ball rolling with my wonderful ideas! I have a 23rd birthday bash to plan, our Sorority's Annual Retreat, Formal Ball, and Alumnae Ceremony. On top of that, I'm hoping to get a call from one of the many companies I've contacted, to help plan and execute weddings and other events during the Spring and Summer months!
The highlight of my break has been the idea of returning back to school because I'm eager to pick up a book! If you have been following my posts, you should already know that I am all about school, school supply shopping, and learning!
Until next time, take care of yourself, and each other (I've been watching Jerry Springer too, lol, I know that's sad!)
