Happy New Year everyone,
I'm enjoying my break still. For some wacky reason this year we've received two weeks off for Winter Break rather than one or one and a half. I'm fine with this of course. It lets me get my life in order. Such as working on a few of those New Year's Resolutions. I want to be more organized and more informed about world events. Not such bad ideas, seeing as the world is going down the tubes pretty quickly these days. I've spent the entire day at the gym, working off my Christmas excesses and watching MSNBC. Wow, the out look is not so good. I took a break from news while taking a break from school you see, and I haven't exactly been on top of things. Of course I've listened to my true love NPR, but I haven't been reading the newspaper or writing anything newsy. All I have to say is...Wow. Get your head in the game 2009. We can't have another year like 2008.
It maybe be difficult to be happy these days. I've been working three jobs for a while now, and I still haven't made significant gains with the whole poverty thing. I'm quitting Kohls today to try and save my sanity. I have two jobs and 13 credits hours. Yeah, I don't think I need another job. But with my mother now officially homeless, I feel lazy not working myself to death to try and help them. So if you see me at the library's front desk, I could use a pack on the back and a good word. I could use one every day.
The good news is that I think my new classes are going to be really interesting and fun and I'm sure I can do well. Last semester I earned a 3.46 (why they can't just round that up I'll never know.) and I think I can get that up a little more this semester. I just need to be organized and focused.
Okay. Stay strong. The world may not be ending, but it's starting to look a little shakier than usual. So keep your chins up, love yourself, and cheer for my main man Obama on Jan. 20th!
