Winter 2009 has already reached a point where the students are running full force. With assignments, blogs, discussions, and projects due, I am juggling everything the best that I can. At first, I didn’t think that 16 credit hours was going to be as tough as it has been. I am keeping up on things as best as I can and have been pretty successful so far. It is just too bad that I have the flu right now.
My son woke up Monday morning coughing his head off and looking very pale. As a mother’s intuition, I cuddled with him, gave him a warm bath, and everything else a mom does. Well, go figure that I obtained his illness and now we are both sick. I hate having the flu because I have to slow down my daily life. Of course, I would never call off of work so when I am sick everything becomes 20 times harder.
I have noticed this semester illnesses passing through the school like the stomach flu and of course the common cold. One of my professors stated that he had food poisoning (which was most likely misdiagnosed) and he would not speak near the students or pass out papers. I remember pulling out the hand sanitizer hoping I was able to escape all of the horrible viruses being passed around. I was able to escape the stomach flu from my professor but I wasn’t able to escape the flu from my son. Go figure! Hopefully, I am able to recoup from this flu and get back on my feet as soon as I can.
