Changing
majors usually is not the best idea especially when you are a junior but I
thought it would be the best. I was a Management major. Now I have changed my
mind and would like to major in Information Technology Management. There are
plenty of reasons behind my decision.
Management is a great major but I
was wondering if it was too general. Secondly, there are a lot of other
students that are majoring in Management which means I will be competing with
them in the job market. I don't want to be competing with five hundred other
students who have the same background as I do. Thirdly, I want to be a project
manager. My best skill is multi-tasking. I am the type of person that loves to
keep busy and can handle more on plate than others. It is one of my strengths
and I want to emphasize that.
Now, there is nothing wrong with majoring in Management but I was able to realize that was not what I wanted. By changing my major, I will be able to follow the career path that I had imagined. Of course, I still have to fill out the official paperwork yet but I have toiled over the idea for a while now and my mind is made up!
